Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Conference, a Wrightslaw training program, is sponsored by The Oklahoma Disability Law Center, Inc. and Partners in Education Advocacy and it's FREE* for parents, family members, and individuals who work with children with disabilities and are residents of Oklahoma.
Out of state registrants are welcome, but will be charged for the cost of the books ($65). Speaker Pete Wright.

Program
Description One-day
special education law and advocacy programs focus on four areas: - special
education law, rights and responsibilities
- tests
and measurements to measure progress & regression
- SMART
IEPs
- introduction
to tactics & strategies for effective advocacy
Wrightslaw
programs are designed to meet the needs of parents, educators, health care
providers, advocates and attorneys who represent children with disabilities regarding
special education. The program is not disability specific.
* * * NOTE * * * Pete will discuss the U.S. Dept of Justice Settlement Agreement with an Edmond, OK day care center. On November 27, 2013 the USDOJ and Camelot Day Care Center in Edmond, OK entered into a Settlement Agreement. The child, with Down Syndrome and toileting issues, was denied participation in field trips. In addition to paying $3,000 to the parents, the child will have a full year, tuition free, at Camelot.
