Juneau & Anchorage Boot Camps
Juneau - April 8 - 9   l   Anchorage - April 13 - 14

The Wrightslaw Special Education Law and Advocacy Training Programs in Juneau and Anchorage are sponsored by the Governor's Council on Disabilities & Special Education.

Both programs have been approved for 11.75 CLE's. The Board of Social Work Examiners in the Division of
Occupational Licensing has approved this event for Social Worker Contact Hours.

Juneau - Thursday & Friday, April 8 and April 9, 2004

The Juneau Boot Camp will be held at the Centennial Hall Convention Center, 101 Egan Drive Juneau, AK 99801

Registration. Before March 5, 2004 - One Parent $95.00, Professional $110.00, Both Parents $115.00.
After March 5, 2004 - One Parent $105.00, Professional $120.00, Both Parents $ 125.00.

Registration fees include two books, Wrightslaw: Special Education Law and Wrightslaw: From Emotions to Advocacy by Pam and Pete Wright (value: $59.90).

Limited parent scholarships may be available. Please call 1-888-462-1444 or in Anchorage call 222-6166 or email adainfo@adapartners.org. Deadline for scholarship applications is February 6, 2004.

Centennial hall is on the corner of Egan Drive and Willoughby, in the heart of downtown Juneau and central to government offices. From the airport, follow the signs for downtown Juneau to Egan Drive. 8 miles from the airport turn left on Willougby. You'll see Centennial Hall. Turn left into the parking area adjacent to Centennial Hall.

If you are arriving in Juneau by ferry, the taxi ride to Centennial Hall is approximately $30-40 Taxi numbers: Cabco, 586-1111; Capital Cab 789-2772; Juneau Taxi 790-4511 or Metro Taxi 586-2121.

Parking: There are 50 designated parking spots in the lot adjacent to Centennial Hall on two sides. These are marked "CH." If you park in such a spot please register inside the Business Office in the morning as a visitor. This parking merges into State of Alaska parking which is not marked and tickets are issued, so be sure to park in a spot marked "CH."

Other options for parking: Additional parking is located across Egan Drive in a public parking area in front of the Coast Guard Building. That is unrestricted free parking. Five blocks towards downtown under the Public Library is a 3-level paid parking garage overlooking the channel. Two blocks from Centennial Hall towards downtown is paid parking lot.

Public transportation Capital Transit has buses to downtown Juneau from the airport. The bus schedule is posted in the bus shelter. Buses run between 7 am to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Handicapped Accessible Van may be available through Care-A-Van: 907-463-6194 between 8 am and 4:30 p.m. Email in advance cav@ccsjuneau.org.

Accommodations - a block of rooms are held at the Prospector located at 375 Whittier Street, Juneau, AK 99801 until March 30, 2004 for a reduced rate. Call (800) 331-2711 in AK (800) 478-5866 to book your room. Rooms are held under the name "Special Education Training". The Prospector has a full-service restaurant open 7 am - 9 p.m., accessible rooms, complementary shuttle service to/from airport and ferry terminal 24 hours a day and is directly across the street from the Centennial hall Convention Center http://www.prospectorhotel.com/
