NOVEMBER 1999

Saturday, November 13, 1999. ACT NOW Conference (Achieving Communities Together Now), Sheraton Inn Station Square, Pittsburgh PA..

The ACT NOW Conference is being planned and implemented by parents. The Conference focuses on special education, IEPs, inclusion, health care, mobility, planning for the future, and lobbying - issues that parents of disabled children deal with every day.

Friday, November 12: Lunch and Learn for Lawyers. An informal session with Pete Wright, author of Wrightslaw: Special Education Law. Pete will explain why special education cases can generate as much emotional intensity as bitterly contested divorces, complicated by battles of expert witnesses. Attorneys will learn how to recognize and deal with underlying issues, and where to find answers to their questions about the complex, fascinating area of special education law.

Saturday, November 13: Peter Wright is Keynote Speaker - "From Victim to Empowerment" .

Saturday, November 13: Peter and Pam Wright present workshop sessions on "Tests and Evaluations: What Those Numbers Really Mean" and "How to Negotiate an IE.P"
