Sherri: Does IDEA require that SLP’s have a Master’s degree? If someone is provisionally licensed in a state as an SLP, can they perform the duties of an SLP with a Master’s degree or are they in essence an SLPA?

Sherri –
IDEA does not have degree requirements for therapists (or teachers, for that matter). It’s left to states to determine what constitutes proper credentialing. Many SLP also have credentials through a professional organization (like ASHA – http://www.asha.org/), which may have its own guidelines.
