Deirdre: My son’s teacher told me if I didn’t sign the IEP, he couldn’t receive any services from her, or attend school. Is this true?

I think he can attend school even if you don’t sign. If the teacher is a special ed teacher, there might be a problem with her providing services without your consent.
Why don’t you start by asking them to show you the law, regulation or policy that backs up what they’re saying? That is a good general strategy whenever you are told something that sounds weird.
Deirdre: I have a couple of questions.
Is this your son’s first IEP? If it is not, how long has he been receiving special ed services? Why did you decide you would not sign the IEP?
No, if he is eligible for compulsory attendance. Your state parent training & information center can assist you. http://www.parentcenterhub.org/find-your-center
