Tara: My son is in 10th grade. He received his schedule and he had no lunch period. He was told that he has to eat his lunch quickly in the resource room while he is supposed to be getting extra help. So he has to gobble down his lunch and he is losing time that he should be using for the extra help with his core classes. Is that legal?
I wouldn’t allow this to continue. Your child ,if possible, deserves to be eating lunch with his peers and friends. He can still get his extra help after or before lunch.
THis happened to my son. My son did not have to gobble down his food & there still was enough time for the lesson. I was not happy about the situation however I felt like this was not something I wanted to fight over since my son did not mind & I was happy with the services I was getting for him. I always try to weigh the battles I want to get involved with.
