Danielle: I am having trouble with the school pulling my son out of his specials. I have asked for this to be stopped and the school has refused. Do I have the right as a parent to have them stop pulling my son from his specials and pull him during another time? He has dyslexia and really excels at art so I think it is very important for him to stay in art class.
I have faced a similar problem. You can present two big reasons for your proposal: (1) building self esteem by excelling in the area of natural aptitude and interest is very important for a special learner (give examples); (2) excluding your child from the specials is discrimination.
