Jean: my son has chronic functional dysepsia. he had to miss an entire semester while being diagnosed even though the school received documentation from vision and his absences were excused. received no instruction or assistance with his education and only received homework assignments. had to go to the school when he was physically able to do tests on the subject. he was also dropped from several classes and they are refusing to let him take driver’s education because of this. refusing to sign a waiver to allow him to take driver’s education. he’s also been dropped from the football team with no explanation and no notification. what right does he have to be able to receive an education when he has a chronic condition that kept him from attending regular classes. the stress of this situation intensified my sons symptoms. And even though he is getting treatment and is doing much better at this time they are now demoted him down from a junior to sophomore further alienating him.
Jean,
You may want to have your son evaluated and see if qualifies for home bound instruction.
