David: My son has a learning disability specifically processing disorder. From the beginning of school he has received “Fs” in one particular teachers class on his progress reports. He is in 5th grade. His teacher is not providing the accommodations listed in his IEP. She even made the statement of if he would study he would do much better. Well he does study!. I have gone to the principal but everyone in the building is scared of the teacher because she is the School Superintendents wife. What can I do?

If the IEP is not being followed file a compliance complaint.
Normally I would suggest working your way up the hierarchy, but given the family relationship, maybe you would get farther switching teachers. Of course you could file a complaint, but if it’s just one teacher who’s out of compliance, I’m not sure if it’s worth it.
One more idea, if this class is last period, or first period, you could deliver the child late to school or pick up early, just to shield him from her nonsense.
I’d Request an IEP meeting. Make sure you specifically request that the teacher be present, along with the SPED Administrator. Check the laws in your State so that you are prepared as well. I went through the same thing with my son. His teachers told me he was “lazy”, but even in their testing it said that he has low processing speed! Good luck
