Sam: Situation is with Divorced parents, mom has full legal and full physical custody per court order. School asserts mom cannot make special education decisions because the court order doesn’t specify that mom has “educational signature”. School sides with dad for special education decision. What is educational signature specifically and is this correct? Family law attorneys have never heard this term or situation.
This does not sound correct. Do you have an advocate or attorney that you can get involved? Everyone is supposed to be thinking of what is in the best interests of the child.
