Olivia: I am special education teacher. I had an IEP where parent and advocate were present. I prepared a copy of Assessment Plan for parent to sign at IEP. Parent signed. Advocate requested one copy of the signed assessment plan for the parent and one for herself. Should I provide a separate copy for the advocate or should the parent do it?
Hello I need my special education records or IEP records from elementary and middle school and high school. I graduated in 1990 from Franklin high school in Livonia Michigan.
Different states have different rules on how long these records must be kept, & what can be destroyed. The district special education office should be in charge of keeping, & destroying records. Good luck.
I am an advocate and I am always given a copy of the IEP. I have never been refused a copy.
If you have a xerox machine handy, why not make an extra copy?
