Leigh: I had my son tested for possible learning disabilities from a independent licensed Psychologist. I was told today at a tier 3 meeting that testing had to be done by the school psychologist before a 504 Plan could be implemented. Is this true?
He has already been diagnosed with ADD and APD (Auditory Processing Disorder).
Legally this is not required, but convincing the school may be difficult. You may find information on 504 evaluations that can assist you on the Office for Civil Rights website.
