Nancy: If a student on an IEP receives modifications in his High School classes, can he receive a High School diploma or is he only eligible for a certificate of completion?

He should be able to get a regular diploma as long as he meets the state’s requirements. A certificate is NOT a diploma and I would not settle for that.
Parents need to find their state’s rules on graduation & diplomas. TX for example does not have certificates of completion. Your state parent training & information project can assist you. http://www.parentcenterhub.org/find-your-center/
