Cynthia: We have an upcoming triennial meeting for our teen age son and we would like to request a different regular ed teacher attend the meeting. We met with the regular ed teacher a year ago and the teacher pointed a finger at my husband and said she would never meet with him. We would like to request that a different high school subject teacher attend our son’s meeting instead, as we believe it will not be in his best interest for that particular regular ed teacher to attend. Can/how do we make the request for another regular ed teacher attend the meeting?
You can do whatever you want, but be careful because it could make you look bad. I would say you’d like the teacher because her lessons and curriculum are the most compatable with your kid’s IEP. Say it would be less work for the teacher you want.
