I was paraprofessional, If parents do not express concerns about such things–little action will or can be taken. I had to manage several aggressive students in a kindergarten class and yes other students were kicked and hurt. School staff did try many interventions. There are not enough aides in classrooms–such is the reality. ALL students have rights. I felt bad all the students involved. You need to write a letter and request meetings and take pictures of any bruising and injuries. I would have my child removed from that classroom. Hint, hint–some teachers have a lot more of the behavioral students in their classrooms than other teachers. Get involved in the PTA, BOE, etc. to get a feel for the climate at the school.
