Shelly: My child is 19 and taking an art class at the local community college. We have been told she will no longer qualify for service now that she is a “college student” Is this correct?

Shelly, taking a class at a community college does not make a child ineligible for special ed. if your child graduated from high school with a regular diploma or she “aged out” at age 22 (age varies depending on your State), she may no longer qualify for special ed services.
