More Letters to the Webmaster . . .

From a California attorney, a Michigan parent, and a Florida teacher

Print this page

Wonder what other people are writing? Here are three new Letters to the Webmaster.

Stu, a California attorney, wants to learn more about special education law -

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Wright,

You have created a most admirable web page. I have surfed through the web for many years now, but this has surely been the single most informative and thoughtful sight I've come by. Well done.

I am writing this in hopes of being able to obtain more information. I recently became a lawyer. One of the fields I am interested in is educational law. However, in talking with several attorneys in the field, I was disappointed to find that much of their work dealt with teacher employment, contracts, and wrongful termination. Little of their work seems to affect the lives of children directly. As I've worked with children, a friend suggested that I examine special education law. This led me to stumble on your web site.

I am touched by your cause and your dedication to it.

To make a long story short, I would like to learn more about this field of law. I hope that you can make some recommendations about to how I can get started.

Are there any legal organizations in the Bay Area of California where I might volunteer my time?
What other resources are there to find out more information?

How can I get involved in working with special education rights?

No doubt you are busy enough through the day. I thank you sincerely for taking the time to read this.

Kindest Regards,
Stuart

Marnie, a teacher, felt affirmed when she read Bill Matthew's letter-

Thanks for printing Bill Matthew's letter.

It reaffirms my belief, as a teacher, that plenty of us do care about doing our jobs.  There are, I
believe, many more good school districts than poor.  Reading some of the websites

can skew one's view of what is really out there.

You did a service to the many conscientious special educators in public school districts around
the country.

Marnie

Paula, a parent from Michigan, sent us compliments!

Dear Pam and Pete,

I just found your web site this morning--and find myself wishing it were a snowy winter day so I could sit here until the kids came home from school and read all of it! The article about writing letters is really really good!

The site is easy to use. I can't wait to digest all the information that is there!

Again, thanks for all the work you put into the site, and the work you have chosen to do with your lives!

Sincerely,

Paula
