School Psychologist Warns Parents about
the Dangers of "Blind Trust" I
am a school psychologist and find parents’ blind trust of "the professionals"
frustrating. Too often, the results of my work show the child has deficits that require specific remediation. After the student enters a special education program, the child doesn't receive remediation. The child doesn't receive the type of services he or she needs, so the child regresses. At least 90-95 percent of student behavior problems are directly related to years
of inappropriate special education, no real "remediation" and no positive results. Please
continue to educate parents. I enjoyed reading your excellent article regarding interpreting assessment results. Read more Last revised 10/11/08
